Coaches Who Care

Our coaches take your hockey goals seriously. It is our goal to develop hockey players of all ages, help them overcome individual hurdles, increase their speed, balance, power, efficiency, and hockey IQ.  Most importantly, we want players to develop a life-long passion for the game and learn invaluable life lessons through hockey. We are committed to providing a fun and supportive environment where players can grow both on and off the ice.

Knowledgeable Expertise

Our camps focus on teaching players the proper techniques and skills required to be an effective and explosive hockey player.  We are dedicated to helping young athletes develop their skills, passion, and love for the game. We begin with quality instruction and then allow students the time to practice the new skills and techniques they learn. Our participants not only improve their hockey abilities but also learn valuable lessons about teamwork and sportsmanship. We accomplish this in a positive learning environment that is high tempo, supportive, and fun for all skaters.

testimonials

“I absolutely loved the amount of instructors you had on the ice. Especially with young kids if they were doing a drill wrong there were enough coaches out there to catch it and correct it! Great job guys!”

–Chad M

“Corrective feedback is always offered by the instructors immediately and respectfully. Excellent ratio of instructors to participants.  This ensures optimum learning and improvement. Drills are always modelled well by the various instructors.”

–Mark S

“A very professionally run camp from their web-site to the instructor-skater ratio as well as the use of equipment and drills to help your skater’s stride and overall technique.  Our skater felt it was both challenging and fun!”

– Raquel T

“He has participated in your power skating before but this was our first time with this camp, it was wonderful. It was great to see all the helpers you had on the ice, and how they were correcting each movement!”

– Amie T

“Growing up in small Saskatchewan communities, ice was always available, however, after learning throughout a successful professional career, knowledge for training of the game was not.

This is where Derek and his hockey camps come into play. All levels of hockey, from Mites to the NHL level, have transformed into all speed and skill. If you can’t skate, you can’t play. Derek and his staff have the knowledge and commitment in getting you to the next level for skating and hockey skills.

At 29 years of age, I continue to work with the Senators skating coach to keep improving so I can adapt to the new game of hockey. I was fortunate enough to take part in a camp this past summer with Derek and his staff. My footwork, edges, and stick skills not only improved in the week, but I also obtained knowledge and ideas of different drills and exercises to take along with me and continue to work on.

I wish I had the sources we do today when I was growing up, the ‘kids’ playing at the pro hockey level these days have speed and skill out of this world. I would like to thank Derek and his staff for having me out and working on my game this past summer, and getting my ready for NHL camp in Ottawa. I highly recommend everyone of all ages to get involved with his camp.”
